The Karma Book Reviewing Program is a community-driven platform that connects authors and reviewers. The aim is to let every author, aspiring or bestseller, benefit equally and have the same possibility to receive reviews. The more an author contributes, the higher chance he/she has of getting something back. This is achieved by the interactive Karma System.
For reviewers, it's a great way to easily find free books in return for honest reviews, while also earning delightful Spirit Points and ranking in the system.
What makes this different?
-Everything is free; No pay to win methods.
-Everyone is equal; No famous name benefits or books who takes it all.
-The more you contribute, the more you get back; No more contributing to enter Review Programs and getting nothing back because of boosted books.
-Reviewer ranking list; Spirit points make it fun to review!
Amazon/Goodreads rules are that reviews have to be honest, not paid for and not written by relatives. Authors are allowed to review each other's books, as long the reviews are honest. Read more on the Amazon Author Guidelines. It is also recommended to state that the book was given freely in return for an honest review; Mentioning of the Karma program is also welcomed. Counter-reviewing is naturally not allowed, both in Amazon/Goodreads guidelines, but also in the Karma Program. Please also put some detail in the reviews, to make it obvious that you read the book and are not just reviewing of principle (example: "good book." reviews are not very trustworthy, and might even be removed by Amazon).

There are two point types in the system; Karma Points for authors and Spirit Points for reviewers. The more Karma points a book has, the more Karma and Spirit Points it will cast off when reviewed.
Karma Points
These are connected to the Author and his/her book. The more Karma Points an author has - the higher his/her book ranks on the Book List - and the more Karma Points a reviewing author will get. When a review has been approved the book Author will "pay" the reviewing Author the amount of Karma Points. The reviewing author will additionally get +1 Karma Point per review completed in the system (up to 5). Reviewers (who are not authors) will not get Karma Points and therefore such reviews will be granted freely.
Spirit Points
These are the reviewers' ranking points. They will both be granted to reviewers and reviewing authors. The Book List shows how many Spirit Point a review will give for the specific book. This is decided by the amount of Karma Points the book has. Spirit Points are permanent and will not be exchanged for reviews like Karma Points do. The more Spirit Points a Reviewer has, the higher he/she ranks on the Reviewers list, being showed with their Spirit name. Reviewing authors will also show as Reviewers on this list with their Spirit name.
If you wish to change your Author Name, your Amazon Reviewer name or your Spirit Name, please write a mail to karma@millwoods.eu. Include a short description of the reason and a proof (i.e. a screenshot of the new name.)
If you wish to swap your book for another one of yours, edit some information or files in the Karma system of your current book, or completely remove your book from the system, please write a mail to karma@millwoods.eu. Include a short description of the reason and what you wish to happen. If we need further information, we will get back to you.
If for some reason you should wish to opt out of the Karma Program, change your password to "delete" and write us a mail at karma@millwoods.eu. Your account will then be permantly deleted from the database.
As a reviewer (not a reviewing author), you have the possibility to cancel a book review posting if you for some reason can't finish the book or write a review. These opt-outs should only be used on rare occasions. Write an email to karma@millwoods.eu with the subject "Opt-out"; Write the title of the book and the reason for canceling. If we accept the reason, the chosen book will be freed and you can choose a new book.
The short answer is NO - to both. This is a platform for reviewers and authors to equally benefit from the system, and money should not be an influencing factor.
Currently only on Amazon for Reviewing Authors. All Amazon domains are supported, but Amazon.com is preferred. For reviewers, Amazon and Goodreads are supported, as well as posting only in the Karma Platform. It's always kind to post your review on other sites as well, but for now, we are only delivering Points for these reviews. We hope to implement other reviewing platforms in the future.
To protect authors from having their books spread without limits, we only allow reviewers to review one book at a time. A review needs to be posted in order to get access to other book files. Reviewers (not authors) have the possibility to opt-out if they provide a valid reason. Reviewing Authors currently don't have this possibility as the Karma points are treated differently and should not be abused.
